Vineyard :

Description: In Burgundy, the " cabotte " or cabote, meant a little dry stone shelter on the edge of the vineyards which the growers used for lunch or for protection from the rain. That which gave its name to this vineyard can still be seen between the Montrachet and Chevalier-Montrachet appellations. Bouchard Père & Fils vinifies the grapes from this vineyard separately (21 "ares") for it is the most prestigious of Chevalier-Montrachet. The land is located in the continuity of the Montrachet and was part of this appellation at the beginning of the 20th century.

Grape variety : Chardonnay

Soil of the appelation : A lot of limestone, marly on stony subsoil

Total surface of the appelation in production :0.21 hectares
