Site : Chanson and the Hospices de Beaune are the major operators of this very small single vineyard an Chanson and the Hospices de Beaune on a hump of the hill of Corton. The vineyard used to belong to the Count of Vergennes, who was counsellor to Louis XVI and signatory for the Treaty of Independence with the United States of America
Tasting : Bright gold colour. Aromas of peach, apple and pear mixed with spices and vanilla. Beautiful minerality. Complex, deep and energetic. Onctuous with a tight texture and a well-shaped minerality. Long and generous finish. Score : 93 Burgundy report - Tim Atkin - 2014
Food pairing : Seafood, foie gras, fish in a creamy sauce, crayfish. Particularly great with a selection of French cheeses.
