Vineyards situation :
The commune of Savigny les Beaune is located above between Aloxe Corton and Pernand Vergelesses, in the north of the Côte de Beaune.
Characteristics :
Savigny produces exclusively red wines (90%) under the village and premier cru appellations. The vineyard has south, south-east, east and north-east exposure and is situated between 220 and 360m. The chalk soil is gravely or stony, light and infertile.
Wine making :
The fermentation takes vats during 3-4 weeks, after which they are aged in wooden barrels for an average of 12-15 months before being bottled.
Winemaker's comments / Gastronomy :
Maison Louis Jadot vinified the production of different growers to yield a red Savigny les Beaune of medium-deep colour. The bouquet is elegant, quite powerful with morello cherry, blackcurrant and raspberry aromas. Supple, it has a light, fine structure. This wine is often characterised as a feminine wine.
