Côte de Nuits
Appellation Village
Red
100% Pinot Noir
Characteristics: This vineyard is east-south oriented in the village of Chenôve. The soils are dark brown, dry and contain marls and clay with stones and gravels helping for a good drainage. The Clos du Roy vineyard may be the first parcel to get the premier cru appellation in the near future.
Wine making: This wine is vinified in vats during 3 to 4 weeks and is then aged in French oak barrels for about 12 to 15 months.
Winemaker's comments / Gastronomy: The colour is intense. The bouquet is open reminding of wild blackberries, dried prunes and blackcurrent. It will then with age get more musky scents. It is quite tannic but also supple. The Marsannay Clos du Roy will match very well red roasted or grilled meat. With time, it will also match marinated meat, stews and most cheeses.
Preservation: This wine will be able to age 8 to 12 years according to the vintages.
