Vineyards situation : The commune of Savigny les Beaune is located above between Aloxe Corton and Pernand Vergelesses, in the north of the Côte de Beaune.
Characteristics : Savigny produces exclusively red wines (90%) under the village and premier cru appellations. The vineyard has south, south-east, east and north-east exposure and is situated between 220 and 360m. The chalk soil is gravely or stony, light and infertile. "La Dominode", easterly exposed, lies to the far south end of the commune, bordering the Beaune vineyards. Soils are gravely producing more elegant wines. Wine making The fermentation takes vats during 3-4 weeks, after which they are aged in wooden barrels for an average of 12-15 months before being bottled.
Winemaker's comments / Gastronomy : Maison Louis Jadot produces a fresh, frank, vivacious wine of considerable
charm, with bright, red berry fruit and fragrant refined bouquet. This wine will be perfect with any light dishes, red or white meat or feathered game. Highly flavoured sauce will be perfect with an old wine.
Preservation : This wine will certainly improve up to 7-10 years in good cellaring conditions
(humidity and temperature)
