Vineyards situation : The village of Santenay is located in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune, just after Chassagne Montrachet.

Characteristics : The «Clos de Malte» is a 7 ha "Monopole" (Louis Jadot is the sole owner) situated on the "climat" «Sous la Fée» at the foot of the Montagne des Troix Croix. The Santenay Clos de Malte is mainly planted with Pinot Noir with a small hectare of Chardonnay situated on very damp soil of limestone and clay.

Wine making : Fermentation takes place in tanks during 3-4 weeks, after which the wine is aged in barrel for 12 months before being bottled.

Winemaker's comments / Gastronomy : The red Santenay Clos de Malte is an elegant wine, with colour, depth and quite
potent tannins. It gives off delicate and complex aromas of red well-ripened fruits, of almonds and subtle "earthy" notes. This wine with its earthy notes goes extremely well with casseroled pigeon.

Preservation : It will age well for 5 to 10 years in good conditions of conservation and temperature.
